Slow Food Wind River is a nonprofit hub for local food in the Wind River Basin, and Meadowlark Market & Kitchen is its hub.

Our mission is to build an abundant, resilient, and valued local food system that supports our landscape, our farmers, ranchers, and food artisans, and our community.

Shake Hands

Buying local keeps our money here. It is how we support farm & ranch families, & food artisans. We shake their hands by eating local to ensure they are paid for their good, honest work.

  • A year-round food retail storefront to help local food producers sell their goods.

  • Provides an affordable licensed, professional grade kitchen for food makers and artisans. It is available to host community gatherings, throw parties, and produce foods sold in the market.

  • Reduces food waste by reconnecting people with perfectly good, delicious food that would otherwise be trashed.

  • Learn food preparation and preservation techniques, which help save money and bring people together.

Eat well. Save money. Be local.

Mainstream grocery stores only give about 14% of revenue back to the farmers for the food they grow.

Shopping at Meadowlark market bumps that up to 80% - that’s over five times the revenue for small local farms.
