Food is where people, landscape and food intersect. As a pastured poultry farm, certified by the American Grassfed Association, Melissahof produces hatching eggs, baby chicks and laying hens, table eggs and poultry meat products. It also grows a 1/4-acre of certified USDA Organic heirloom garlic. The farm is holistically managed to sustainably integrate cattle, poultry and crops for regenerative soil, plant and animal health for a resilient local food system. Within and around this, Melissahof – and its owner Melissa Hemken – endeavor to create joy through gathering community around hearty poultry and holistic eats.
